All rayon based carbon fabrics are made from rayon fabric-precursor woven from viscose technical yarn

Main properties of viscose based carbon fabric

• thermal resistivity up to 3000 C (inert gas or N2)
• thermal resistivity on air up to 450 C
• chemical resistivity same as graphite
• no melting point
• electroconductive
• content is 99+% of carbon + mineral ash less than 1%
• carbon cloth is soft, flexible, no skin irritating
• easy to impregnate with resins (epoxy, phenolic)

Main textile structure is twill 2/2. Plain and satin are also available

Normally fabric is treated at 2200 C

Available fabric weight per sqm is 170, and 330g

Width 50, and 100cm

 

Main application is production of carbon-carbon and carbon-phenolic composites
